Guaranteed Muscle Growth by Using This Tactic?
Muscle growth isn’t some big mystery. You don’t need to leave things up to chance. All you have to do is understand the kind of workouts that cause muscles to grow. Lets discuss the two types of muscle growth and how you can use this knowledge to quickly gain muscle mass.
1. Sarcoplasmic Muscle Growth:
This type makes the muscles bigger because the fluid inside the muscle cells is expanded. This kind of muscle growth is going to cause muscles to develop quicker than other techniques. That’s the secret of why bodybuilders are so much bigger than someone who does power lifting – because a bodybuilder focuses on maximizing the sarcoplasmic growth for their muscles.
So How Do You Increase the Sarcoplasm Inside a Muscle Cell?
A great method for expanding the sarcoplasm is to do between 6 and 15 reps. What this means is you’ll need to “compress” each of your workouts to some extent. The rest period needs to be short to insure that you fatigue the muscle within this rep range. You can’t rest 90+ seconds in between sets because this will limit the amount of sarcoplasmic muscle growth caused by the workout. The total workout volume of sets and reps needs to be high as well.
2. Myofibrillar Muscle Growth:
This type expands the fiber or tissue of the muscles to make them larger. The muscles will not grow as much using this method as they will with sarcoplasmic muscle growth. The reason you want to add in myofibrillar training is to give the muscles a hard and dense look. By concentrating on sarcoplasmic muscle growth only, your muscles will look soft.
So How Do You Train for Myofibrillar Growth?
You need to make sure you’re training in that 2-5 rep range, as well as going for maximum tension in your muscles rather than maximum fatigue. Rest longer in between sets, because the weight being used and tension generated is your number one goal. You can take a minute and a half or longer off between each set. You also are allowed to take brief pause in between your reps. The volume does not need to be high, you simply want to lift heavy for a low to medium amount of sets.
Making Sure To Combine Both Types Of Muscle Growth To Achieve The Best Results
If you do not do some myofibrillar growth exercises, your muscles will be big, but will look soft. And if your total focus in on myofibrillar growth alone, you’ll end up with dense, but very undersized muscles.
